Usage & Limits
What counts toward your plan, how it is counted, and what happens when you reach a limit. You can see all of it live on the Usage page in your dashboard.
What counts
Monthly active players (MAP)
Counted per game, then added up across your games.
A player active in two of your games counts in each. That is deliberate and it is how your invoice is calculated — we would rather state it than have you find it.
Events
Every economy event your SDK sends — earns, spends, purchases, sessions.
A fair-use ceiling, not a price. It exists so one integration bug cannot cost us a fortune, and it is set well above what your player count implies.
AI authoring spend
What your AI-authored pages cost us to generate.
The only thing here with a real per-use cost, so it is the only one with a spend cap rather than a count.
Games, team members, API keys
How many exist right now.
Deleting one frees the slot immediately. These are not cumulative counts.
What does not count
- ✓Sandbox traffic. Testing your integration against a sandbox key never counts toward anything you pay for — we show it separately so you can see it, not so you can be billed for it.
- ✓The SDK itself, the dashboard, your economy data, offer screens, themes, remote config, and player segments. These are the platform. We do not meter them.
- ✓Players who never trigger an event. If they never played, they are not active.
What happens when you reach a limit
Your game keeps running.
We never stop accepting telemetry from your players, and we never stop serving offers, because of a limit. Your live game is not where a billing conversation should happen. If you go over, we tell you and we talk to you — nothing is switched off mid-session.
Dashboard actions can be refused.
Creating a new game, inviting a team member, minting an API key, or starting another experiment can be declined if it would take you past your plan. When that happens you get a clear message naming the limit, what you are using, and which plan lifts it — not a generic error.
Moving DOWN a plan is checked in advance. If a smaller plan would not fit what you already have, we show you everything that needs to change before the switch, not one item at a time.
Before you run out
We email as your allowance runs down — by default at 30%, 20% and 10% remaining, once each per month. You choose who receives those and at which levels under Settings → Notifications. See Alerts & notifications.
Where the charges show up
The same page shows your subscription — the plan, whether it is active, the current period, and the date it renews or ends. If a payment fails it says so there rather than leaving you to notice.
If you go above your plan's player band, the excess is reported for billing and listed by month. We show the units reported, not a total: the amount is calculated by the payment provider and appears on your invoice, so quoting a second figure here would only give you two numbers to reconcile. Invoices, receipts and your payment method all live in the billing portal — Settings → Subscription → Manage billing.
Only a studio owner sees this. Admins can do everything else, but billing is deliberately not one of them.
