Alerts & notifications

What we email you about, who receives it, and how to change that. All of it is editable under Settings → Notifications.

We route to roles, not to people

You subscribe a role — Owner, Admin, Developer, Analyst — and we resolve it to actual people at the moment we send. That sounds like a small difference and is not:

  • A new admin starts receiving admin alerts immediately. Nobody has to remember a second list.
  • Someone who leaves your team stops receiving them the moment you remove them. With a list of addresses, a departed employee keeps getting your billing mail until somebody notices.
  • Suspending a team member also suspends their alerts, from the same action.

You can still add specific addresses for people who are not dashboard users — an accounts inbox, a finance alias, an on-call address. Those are exactly the cases roles cannot cover.

What we send

AlertDefaultWhen
Usage & quotaOwner, AdminYour monthly event allowance is running low.
BillingOwner onlyInvoices, payment failures and plan changes. Admins have full access but not billing, so this one is owner-only.
Kill switchOwner, AdminSomeone paused or resumed AI offers for a game.
Approvals waitingOwner, AdminAn AI offer needs approval. Only these roles can approve, so routing it elsewhere would be a dead end.
AI spendOwner, AdminAI authoring spend is approaching its monthly cap.
ReleasesAdmin, DeveloperAn update was delivered to your players.
Economy adviceAdmin, DeveloperA new recommendation about your game economy.
SecurityOwner, AdminAPI keys created or revoked, team members added.

These defaults mirror what each role can already see in the dashboard. An alert about something a role cannot open is noise, so we do not send it. Change any of them and your choices replace the defaults entirely.

Usage alerts: when we warn you

By default at 30%, 20% and 10% remaining — expressed as what is left, not what is used, because that is the number you act on. You get one email per level, per month. If your usage jumps past several levels at once you get one email, for the most urgent one, rather than three at the same moment.

If nobody is subscribed

We still send it — to your billing email — and we mark it clearly in your alert history so you can see it happened. An important alert reaching the wrong inbox is recoverable. An important alert reaching nobody, silently, is not. The Notifications page warns you when this is the case so you can route it properly.

Alert history

Every alert we send is recorded — when, at which level, and to whom. You can check exactly what went out under Settings → Notifications. See also Usage & limits.
